Ida: Hair and beard practice.
You: Lolwhat?
Ida: :D?

Yeah, I know. But I can tell you, I did struggle A LOT with the hair, so in a way this WAS indeed hair and beard practice, and I did concentrate on in. I originally intended to paint Glóin as my hair practice, but his hair and beard are all frizzy and stuff, and not very interesting. This fellow, on the other hand, he circled around my head for two days and I decided that good for this exercise or not, I'm painting him, period. Painting hair and beard will not stop here. :D Maybe I should stop having specific exercises, though, because usually you can't tell what I was trying to do. xD Noooo, that would not help me focus on things I need to practice!

Adam Brown as Ori in the upcoming film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit, or, there and back again" or whatever the title is, can't be bothered to check right now because I'm hungry. :( Also featuring: a wooden pint which doesn't look wooden, a metal band that does not look like metal, and a super-quick background.

I could be happier with the process today. I slipped a lot from the rule "do not use the color-stealer tool" that I set to myself in exercise 2. I'm still not happy with the color around the nose and on the chin (the cheek was a nightmare and I'm not afraid to say I very nearly rage!quit at one point). :( But oh well, it can be fixed later if I feel like it! Tomorrow's a new day!

Tomorrow I'll probably go for... metal&co., or skin texture (which you can see is very lacking here). :D

For your struggles it pays off! I go about saying his line "I don't like green food" and "do they have any chips?" all the time XD you did a great job on this and I am impressed by the level of detail you have in both your paintings AND your black and white pencil. These should have a lot more comments and faves than they do. Its a shame really that sometimes the most talent gets the least amount of notice when people who take 5 minutes to copy/paste an already copyrighted studio picture; overlay it on a background and write something witty gets a whole bunch of notice. Its unjust! Here is a real comment and a fave for your talent on an interesting character!
